Salmons lead such a pitiful and bitter life.
They have to protect themselves and conquer crazy sharks, stupid bears and proud eagles in order to swim to their destination. All these while swimming against the current, upstream. Their purpose? To travel back to their place of birth for mating and the reproduction of their offspring. And after laying the eggs? They die of exhaustion.
In conclusion, they travel all the way just to ensure the survival of their species and then die. They had certainly fulfil their responsibility. And if the unfortunate happens, in the case whereby they got eaten by some huge furry bear for example, it just means that fate had dealt them the worse.
Then I think of myself. If I'm a salmon, would I have that much determination? Sheesh.
